![]() Amusingly, if I tell the HomePods' "Hey Siri, also play what's playing on Apple TV", Siri replies "OK also playing in here", but the audio stops playing at the TV (see image). But If I try to tell the ATV4K's instance of Siri to "also play this " I get "Sorry, I can't tell what speaker you're referring to" (or some other excuse) written on the screen. ATV4K's Settings app cheerfully reports "ATMOS Available" (indicating a proper connection and handshake with the soundbar).įWIW, as a workaround I can tell the HomePods to play music, then tell Siri to also play on the Apple TV. The ATV4K audio normally sounds great connected directly to a Sony HT-Z9F soundbar via an HDMI v2.1 cable, while a second HDMI 2.1 cable runs from the soundbar to the LG TV's HDMI/ARC port. Configuring the HomePods in the same logical room as ATV4K makes no difference. Unfortunately, the audio stops playing on the TV when both the HomePods and the Receiver Speakers are selected.Īpple Home configuration: ATV4K in "Living Room" and HomePods in "Kitchen" (open floor plan - trying to play music throughout). As you can see in the following picture of my TV screen, the Apple TV device appears to believe it's sending audio to both sets of speakers (if I select ONLY the HomePods, the text at the top reads: "Apple TV -> HomePods"). I also can’t run the wireless audio sync because it turns the output to tv speakers for the test which does not resolve the issue.īug: ATV4K won't play music on BOTH the TV and HomePods in another room I’m unable to play music (1st-gen Apple TV 4K audio) through both the TV/Soundbar and a pair of HomePod minis in an adjacent room at the same time. UPDATE: Apple TV is running latest tvOS as of 12/7/21 and the wireless sync between headphones (all apple) or HomePod pair still goes out of sync with every session. I’ve also tried defaulting Video output to every available option and tried wireless audio, still out of sync. ![]() ![]() And even though it seems to by synced with HomePods, if I temporarily change audio to headphones it goes completely out of sync. Anyone else with similar issues? I will add that when using my HomePod stereo pair as the default output, the audio seems to be in sync, but if I try to calibrate wireless audio to the HomePods, the Apple TV changes the audio output to TV speakers. Everything worked flawlessly before the tvOS update…BUT, I have the new Apple TV 4K which doesn’t have a USB-C port…so I can’t downgrade it back to 14.7. The problem with that is the TV menus are not in HDR, so if I change my TV’s input and then go back to the Apple TV input channel, the screen starts flashing green and static until I power reset both the TV and the Apple TV. The closest fix I could find, but it’s still really out of sync, is setting my video output to 4K Dolby Vision and turning off Match Content and Frame Rate. I tried using the calibrate wireless audio feature in the settings, but when I try it defaults the audio output to TV speakers which doesn’t have any problem…because it’s wired! So not sure what wireless audio sync is good for if it’s only checking if wired audio is synced. Doesn’t matter what I’m watching, or what app/service I’m watching, the audio is out of sync. ![]() ![]() This includes AirPods, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max. I updated my Apple TV 4K to tvOS 15 and now, all my *Apple* devices will not sync audio wirelessly. This is a new thread for the same question because the original thread ( ) was marked incorrectly as resolved. ![]()
